Apple has just shared a pair of new ads on its Mexico YouTube channel. The new ads relate to the App Store and the new Portrait Lighting effects found on the iPhone X. The ads are titled App Store and Retratos respectively. Retratos is Pictures in Spanish. These ads are similar to other ads in the past, with the slogan “Switch to iPhone” used to encourage non-iPhone users that switching to the device will make your life a lot easier....

As WWDC continues, Apple today has released Safari Technology Preview 58. This is the experimental browser that the company first introduced in 2016 as a way for developers to test upcoming Safari features. Apple this week shared photos of its under construction Campus 2 with employees, including some of the first interior shots of the building that is now nearing completion. The photos don’t appear to be meant for public consumption, but were published today by French blog macgeneration. As part of the memo to employees, Apple reportedly said that around 5,200 people are currently working the site. The photos, which are some of the first of the building’s interior, shows the enormity of the structure from a ground-level perspective....

Earlier this month, a study from the Heart Rhythm Journal indicated that the iPhone 12’s new MagSafe technology can deactivate pacemakers in certain situations. Apple has responded to these claims by updating a support document on its website with new advice for iPhone 12 users with implanted pacemakers and defibrillators. Ahead of production on season three, the Apple TV+ hit series Ted Lasso has signed a major licensing deal with the Premier League, according to The Athletic. The deal will allow the show to use official Premier League materials including archive footage, club logos, and the league’s trophy as part of the episodes. The deal is said to be worth about £500,000. This should mean that season three of the series will feature references to real Premier League teams and players....

Apple has just announced an update to it’s Mac mini desktop PC that features all-new internals and a lower starting price. The CPU has been bumped to the current fourth-generation of Intel’s Core processors paired with Intel Iris and HD Graphics 5000 graphics processors. It now sports PCIe-based flash storage, though the exact amount of storage wasn’t mentioned. The trial to finalize the damages owed by Samsung to Apple for infringing five of its patents is set to rest on the meaning of a three-word phrase. If the court accepts Apple’s definition, high damages are likely to be awarded.
