Fans may soon get their first look at Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, now that the film’s trailer has (reportedly) screened in Spain. Set after the events of Justice League, the James Wan-directed movie will see the return of Arthur Curry in Atlantis, as he claims his rightful place as king of the underwater civilization, after being less enthused about the notion in the past.

For months, fans have been relentlessly clamoring for the Aquaman trailer. The first Aquaman footage screened at CinemaCon back in April, but it was unfortunately an event-exclusive clip that won’t be released online. Nevertheless, description of what people saw makes the film sound really promising. Now, it seems that everybody will soon get a chance to see footage from Wan’s DC superhero adventure for themselves.

Aquaman Twitter fan account Aquaman Shrine says that the first trailer for the movie was screened at the European film exhibitors’ conference CineEurope in Barcelona, Spain, and that said footage will soon arrive online. Meanwhile, Trailer Track (citing Russian outlet Kinometro) provides more context for the news, adding that while an official launch date has not yet been confirmed, the trailer (see their description below) will prove to be worth the wait. Variety additionally reported the Aquaman trailer screened during WB’s presentation at CineEurope, stating it will be released online “in the next few days.”

Aquaman will be the first Warner Bros and DC movie released in theaters since last November’s Justice League. Unlike most of the movies from the DCEU roster, there’s been little to no controversy surrounding the film and production progressed quietly, with principal photography mainly set in Australia. Further, folks involved in the project have had nothing but great things to say about not only with the film, but also their experiences making it. Given the positive vibes around the movie, fans are hopeful that Arthur Curry’s first solo film will be another success - both critically and box office-wise - for the DCEU franchise.

With Aquaman still more than six months away, DC is expected to slowly start promoting the film soon. Prior to the screening at CineEurope, rumor had it the Aquaman trailer would debut at San Diego Comic-Con this summer. While the trailer may yet drop (much) earlier than that, WB/DC are expected to have a knockout Hall H presentation at SDCC this year, what with Marvel Studios skipping its annual panel. Aside from the Momoa-led film, David  F. Sandberg’s Shazam! and Wonder Woman 2 are also expected to be heavily promoted during WB’s SDCC panel.
