On the heels of last week’s release of iOS 11.4.1, Apple today has stopped signing iOS 11.4. This means that users are no longer able to downgrade to the previous version of iOS, whether it be for a jailbreak or other reasons…
Apple released iOS 11.4.1 to the public last week, and while it’s not a major release, it does include its fair share of bug fixes and performance improvements.
In many instances, jailbreak users – or hopeful jailbreak users – are the ones most affected when Apple decides to stop signing an older version of iOS. Jailbreaking has made a brief come back in popularity recently with prominent releases for the latest iOS versions, but this move to stop signing iOS 11.4 could put a wrench in those efforts.
Apple is currently only beta testing iOS 12, and it’s unclear if we will see any further iOS 11.x releases at this point. iOS 12 will be made available to the public later this year.
Have you updated to iOS 11.4.1? If not, is there a specific reason you’re holding out? Let us know down in the comments!
